Cork – Paris route good for southwest – Ní Riada

Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ní Riada has welcomed the announcement of a new daily route from Cork Airport.

The Ireland South MEP was speaking after Air France unveiled their plans for a new daily route between Cork and Charles de Gaulle in Paris.

“This is a very exciting development and further proof of the growing importance of Cork Airport internationally,” she said.

“It’s good for jobs, good for tourism, good for business and not just for Cork but for the entire south west.

“Routes like this will also become increasingly important as the reality of Brexit begins to take hold.

“If Britain is going to cut itself off from Europe it’s important that passengers in Cork have direct access to major international airports like Charles de Gaulle that can connect them with the rest of the world.”
